The Budapest Red Wolves Baseball and Softball Club is a baseball club founded in 2013. The primary task of our association, which includes 5 teams (RW, RW2, U15, U13, RW Softball), is to spread the love and popularity of baseball in Hungary. The goal of our department, which belongs to the Budapest Wolves family, is to have as many Hungarians as possible play this sport, regardless of age or gender.

about us
The Red Wolves Baseball and Softball club, founded in 2013, was initially known as the Szentendre Sleepwalkers until the team moved from Szentendre to the 18th district, where it started playing as a new club with a clean slate. In addition to Hungarian championships and cups, they later played in international championships and tournaments. Over the years, it has become one of the most influential Hungarian teams in the Hungarian baseball community. Where our players began to form the backbone of the Hungarian baseball national team. The club regularly received many foreign players who lived, worked or studied here for a shorter or longer period of time, and who brought a lot of development to the club with their baseball experience. The Red Wolves provide opportunities for many players of Hungarian origin who have returned to their homeland temporarily or permanently to continue playing baseball.

RW2, our team's second team, was formed in 200? with the aim of providing an opportunity for those players who have "eliminated" from our oldest youth age group, U15, to play in the adult league. Therefore, RW2 forms a so-called bridge between the U15 age group and our first RW team. RW2 also provides an opportunity for those who started playing baseball later in adulthood (20-40 years). In addition, the RW2 includes some "aging" "veteran" players who, due to health problems, age or other reasons, can no longer actively participate in everyday baseball activities. Their experience and knowledge help immensely in building RW2. The league usually allows double playing licenses, so a given player can also play for another team in a given year. Throughout its history, RW2 has mostly played in the Hungarian second and third divisions, but it has also happened that it has played in the first division in parallel with RW1. The team was most successful in the early 2020s, where they won the second division several times. RW2 was strengthened in 2024 with several South Korean players who have been working in Hungary for a few years, their humility and discipline towards sport are additional motivation for our second-ranked team.

Our women's softball team is one of the few women's teams operating in Hungary. It was founded in 20?? with the aim of introducing this sport to as many Hungarian female athletes as possible. Our team, which has won many Hungarian championship titles, usually plays in the adult Softball team from the age of 14-15, but it also happens that they also play baseball in the U15 and adult RW2 teams. The Red Wolves Softball team regularly participates in tournaments organized abroad. Home games are played on the Softball field at one end of Reds Park.

The goal of our U15 team is to prepare our young people for the challenges of adult baseball. This is the second step in our youth system after U13. Those who are already sufficiently prepared for higher-level baseball already play in the RW2 or even RW1 teams in parallel with the youth league. Our age group team, which has won many Hungarian championship titles, usually participates in numerous indoor tournaments during the winter.

The U13 is the lowest age group in our youth system. It brings together a community of boys and girls under the age of 13 where they learn the basics, customs, and system of baseball. In the U13 league, games are played on a smaller field, which is located at one end of the RW park.

This year, the Red Wolves are looking forward to those who want to try the most popular sport in the USA. Regardless of age, gender, body type, or sports background, you can be part of our team, where experienced Hungarian and foreign coaches will help you integrate. Since we can provide a variety of team equipment, you don't need to buy all the baseball equipment. The training venue in winter and summer is Reds Park in the 18th district. The first month of training is free, after that you can play on our teams for a club membership fee.

Since our team is an amateur, self-funded club, external help is essential to ensure the conditions for playing sports - equipment, travel, entry fees, field rental. Our team's baseball field, Reds Park, was built in 2014 with our own resources in the 18th district, close to the Pestszentlőrinc market, in a green area where several sports complexes can be found (SZAC and Lőrinc United FC football fields and the Academy Tennis Club). One of the two baseball fields in Hungary, Reds Park was initially used only for youth matches, but over time it was also used as the main field by our adult team. In July 2014, the Hungarian baseball national team played its first match and later the team's first international competition was held. With the development of the infrastructure, the baseball park has been continuously developed (stands, buffet, monster, cage). In 20??, the team's baseball tent was completed, which provides an opportunity for training and storing our equipment in the colder months.
